The Green Magnet School is a 21st century school. Every student and every teacher has a laptop; every classroom has a Smart Board.

The Green Magnet School offers the rich variety of academics and extracurricular activities of a large school, while providing the intimacy and personal attention of small learning communities. In smaller learning communities, students explore future career options, while they study, devise, and implement high and low tech green solutions to the world’s environmental issues. Parents like the advocacy, project-based learning, and career exploration that are integral to the Green Magnet program. The curriculum is inter-disciplinary, and teachers have high expectations for academic achievement and environmental involvement. Teachers, parents, students, and administrators work collaboratively to set academic, personal and environmental goals. Students are involved in global technology-based learning: website creation, digital documentaries, videoconferencing, GarageBand, and wikis.
