Principal’s Quotation: "Our school’s main purpose and goal has always been to provide our students with the academic and character tools to be good citizens and productive members of our local community, our city and beyond. Our Magnet status enables us to truly soar in pursuit of our mission.” |
Principal's Message: It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Robert F. Kennedy Magnet Middle School of Community Studies website. When our school was founded in 1992 one of the foundations of our program was Community Service. Students in all grades had the opportunity to perform ongoing Community Service at sites throughout Flushing and Bayside. We volunteered with preschoolers, elementary school students and senior citizens. Our students gained valuable insights into many aspects of the human condition while working with all kinds of people including those with special needs. Our new Magnet status has enabled us to expand the scope of our Community Service theme, becoming The Robert F. Kennedy Magnet Middle School of Community Studies with the theme of “Learning Through Community Studies”. We will utilize the resources of our immediate community, the entire borough of Queens and our wonderful city, and beyond, as a learning tool for our students. Students will have the opportunity to use all of our local resources to expand their knowledge throughout all curriculum content areas. Our learning and experimental opportunities are limitless; the schoolhouse is only the beginning. |
